Today we talk with Kristen Dorsey of Divine Journeys in Martinsburg West Virginia – Wild Foods, Wild Medicine, Wild Empowerment
This is actually the second interview we had with Kristen following our technical glitch on our first recording, nevertheless we still had so much to talk about with her. The interview follows her Wild Foods Retreat Weekend where she guided local participants in identifying edible plants in the local phylogeny of epicurean and healthy delights from the fields and forests of Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. There is so much to be said for a return to understanding a natural world of complex allies in the plant world that aid the human body in its maintenance and health. The fact that our local ecosystems can supply so many unique delights is very empowering knowledge. To the Native Americans and frontiersmen the forest was a supermarket that met all their needs from medicine to food. Kristen has spent years acquiring this knowledge and the weekend retreat was just one way she goes about sharing this with others. The familiarity she shares enables many to develop a relationship, feel and comfortability with identification with these plants. To read about plants is one thing, to see, hold, touch, feel, eat and experience them seats this knowledge for the long-term.
Plants are about transformation.
Transforming sunlight into chlorophyll, water and air into physical tissue. They are the connection between the invisible spirit world and the dense physical earthly world.
They teach about taking what we are given and transforming it into what we need.
The ineffable becomes physical form.

Kristen Dorsey, QTP has been consciously studying and practicing healing in several of its various cultural forms since the early 1990’s. In 2004, she turned her full attention to these cross cultural practices. She has studied core and advanced shamanism with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, aromatherapy with the American College of Healthcare Sciences, medicinal herbalism with several American Herbalist Guild registered herbalists and Quantum Touch healing with Quantum Touch (QT) instructors.
Kristen believes that wellness is a unique journey for each individual. A hawk flies far above the field and sees truth, a mouse scurries between the blades of grass in the same field and also sees truth. So it is with each of us!
Kristen also loves dance as a tool for healing. In 2004, she began belly dancing. The ancient movements of oriental dance, made by women for women, is refreshing, empowering and fun. Join Kristen for classes or find a dance style that excites you and dance like no one is looking.
Kristen offers a variety of shamanic, herbal and energy healing services and workshops at Divine Journeys located in Martinsburg WV.
